Awareness Campaign on Diabetes Prevention in conjunction with World Diabetes Day 2016

Diabetes Malaysia Terengganu Branch (with cooperation of JKKK Kg Gong Lingai dan Kayuh Bike Club) has initiated a few activities to celebrate the annual World Diabetes Day 2016 (which fall in November) on Friday morning of 25th November 2016. The activities are: information dissemination, counselling, health screening, measuring body mass index, and diabetes awareness social survey.

These activities are conducted in a nice public hall in Kg Gong Lingai, Kuala Nerus, about 25 km north of  Kuala Terengganu city centre.

Around 62 persons involved in the social survey, 62 persons involved in the health screening and some are accordingly advised by team of health professional such as doctor, dietitians and diabetes educator.

Around 200 persons including the bikers, kampung folks packed the hall and areas around the hall to listen to the small talk on diabetes prevention and of course eager to know who are lucky ones who are chosen in the lucky draw (hampers).

Health screening is a success whereby our dietitians and diabetes educators checked their blood glucose and blood pressure and advised accordingly. Their BMI are calculated. What the ladies like most is the weighing machine which can tell your biological age.

Information leaflets are circulated to the participants. Big posters on food and diet are up for the public to read and learn.

At the end of the program, the participants are served with fried beehoon noodle,  fish crackers and easy flow of tea at 11.00 am. Twenty hampers are given to the lucky ones.
