Diabetes Malaysia had completed her annual delegate conference on the 22nd of June 2014 at Sunway Putra Hotel, Kuala Kumpur. More than 100 delegates from all over the country attended the conference. Diabetes Malaysia Terengganu branch is represented by 5 members led by Vice Chairman Dr Zaiha Harun, Secretary Hj Wan Hassan, assistance secretary Adebah Idris and two council members Hj Sudirman Yusof and Roslina Che Man.
The Selangor Registrar of Society officer was invited by the association to brief on the new e-Roses system whereby all secretaries (including branches) have to report to ROS annually via this electronic system.
The Chairman, Datuk Ikram was happy with the attendance and the activities that society had done last year. The association had successfully conducted conferences and workshops, celebrated world diabetes day, health screening, attending overseas conference in Melbourne etc. He said the association had survived for the past 31 years and do not let it to die (de-register by the ROS). He also stressed if members found there are personality in the committee who are against association 's aspiration, objective and mission, please remove them. Diabetes Malaysia must be in a lead to fight diabetes in Malaysia through education, information dissemination etc.
The secretary general, Dato Rahimah presented the association activities over the year while the Treasurer (acting) presented the association account. All were passed without debates and were endorsed by the meeting.
Penang branch had told the meeting that the branch had printed a few thousands copies of comic regarding diabetes in main languages and the comic will sent to all branches for free. In another development a few branches will collaborate with Abbott Nutrition International's program "Glucerna Challenge Me." The willing branches to collaborate are Terengganu , Kulim etc.
